OUR STORY

Vase & Vessel has its origins in June 2020, when my husband Adam and I created it as our hobby during the pandemic. At that time, we began sourcing and selling ceramic planters out of a booth at the Andersonville Galleria. One month later, we began selling houseplants there also. Our booth was popular with the Galleria’s customers, and we continued to expand it over the following two years. As it continued to grow, we began to dream of what it would be like to turn our little side project into a store of our own.

Like a lot of people, I started during the pandemic to reflect on what was important me and how I wanted to be spending my life. Ultimately, in summer 2022, I decided to leave my career in higher education administration, where I had worked for over 20 years, and follow my dream of creating and opening a retail home store in my neighborhood of Andersonville. I have always had a love of handmade ceramics, which is something I share with my mom and my sister. Handmade ceramic pieces are also what Adam and I collect as souvenirs from our travels. So part of my dream was always that my store would incorporate the work of local ceramicists and artists, along with home décor and plants.

Adam and I are very proud of the little business that we created and the shop we have grown it into so far. We take tremendous joy in knowing how much our shoppers love the store and the products we have sourced, and we look forward to being part of the small business community in Andersonville for many years to come.
